Toilet Roll Thing 1 & 2 Craft Idea

With just a few simple supplies, you can make two fun characters that are sure to entertain a crowd on March 2nd!

Using recycled materials like cardboard toilet roll tubes allows parents, teachers, educators and crafters alike to create something really special without breaking the bank.

Toilet Roll Thing 1 & 2 Craft Idea

 Not only will it help children boost their imagination, but parents, teachers and educators alike will love how the end result makes for the perfect decoration for classrooms or homes!

Best of all, it requires minimal supplies – toilet rolls being one of them – making this an inexpensive way to fuel creativity in kids without breaking the bank. Let’s get crafting!

Craft Supplies:

  • Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Bright Red Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Scissors
  • Blue Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Stapler
  • School Glue
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – flatten your two empty toilet paper rolls and staple each one, on both ends, to make a rectangle piece.
  • Next up – have children paint one side of their newly flattened toilet paper roll{s} completely red.
  • When done painting, set aside the cardboard tubes to let them dry completely.
  • While those are drying, grab the sheets of cardstock paper, a marker and your scissors.
  • Out of the blue cardstock paper, trace and trim out TWO handprint shapes for the hair of the craft.
  • Out of the white cardstock paper, cut out FOUR small circle shapes.
  • Use the black marker to draw faces on two of the paper pieces, while writing “thing 1 and 2” on the remaining two.
  • To finish off the Cardboard Roll Thing 1 & 2 craft – staple the handprint cut outs in place on the painted toilet paper roll{s} and glue the remaining pieces on as well.
  • Let it dry completely before displaying your tp roll Dr. Seuss character pieces proudly!!!
