Handprint Craft Idea For Valentine’s Day

There are so many pretty things you can make for Valentine’s Day that double as gifts but I sure hope today’s latest paper keepsake idea is THE ONE you decide to put on your holiday to-do list!

With the simple steps and the free LOVE printable I have provided below, you can make SEVERAL paper valentine keepsakes with your child, in just a matter of a few minutes and little to no hassle. Just download, print and add a pink, red or purple handprint to the center of the “love” design, to complete! It’s a technique that is quick and easy for the little crafters in your home to tackle with ease!

Then once the paper love keepsake piece is completely dry, you add a few coordinating embellishments and either gift the finished piece as is or frame it in a cheap Dollar Tree frame, so the lucky receiver can show it off in their home all season long.

Now what you waiting for?! Let’s get to crafting! No need to worry or stress  because ALL the crafty steps and free printable can be found below! I think the hardest part is picking what colors to use!

Happy crafting, my dear friends!!! Hopefully we are able to knock off a few people from your gift list today! #gluedtomycrafts

Handprint LOVE Keepsake Craft

You are only a few steps away from recreating this handprint love keepsake with your child, meaning you can get crafting straight away!

Craft Supplies:

  • LOVE Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First save the LOVE keepsake printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Decide what color you want the handprint to be.
  • Next grab that shade of color in craft paint, as well as your foam paint brush and paper plate.
  • Squirt the craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Pick one of your child’s hands {left or right – doesn’t matter!}
  • Paint the palm of your child’s hand completely and press it down in the center of the printable, between the L – VE letters.
  • Now carefully lift up your child’s hand from the printable and clean off the excess paint with a baby wipe & a quick trip to the sink.
  • When the handprint you just made on the paper is dry enough, start embellishing it however you like. I decided to add a felt heart sticker to my son’s design but you can of course change that up!
  • Don’t forget to have your child fill in the blank spot with their name, age and date!
  • Then display/gift away proudly your child’s beautiful love handprint keepsake piece!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
