Valentine Heart Cat Craft For Kids

Create a cute valentine heart cat craft with easy steps and free printables. Perfect for kids and crafty fun together!

Craft Supplies:

  • Cat Template – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Large Foam Heart
  • Medium Foam Heart
  • Paper Hearts
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the cat template that is listed above in the supply list.
  • Print it out on a piece of simple white cardstock paper. You need ONE cat printable per Valentine’s Day craft.
  • Next up – grab the crayons {or markers, pencils etc.} and color in the face and paws in the cat printable. I went with gray cats but you can do whatever color you like!
  • Once done with the coloring step, trim out each section in the printable and set them aside. You will have ONE head and TWO paws to work with.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab all your heart shapes and the stapler.
  • Start layering them {biggest to smallest} and staple them all together to secure in place.
  • Now you are ready to staple the cat face piece you made earlier, to the back of the entire heart piece, so it looks like she/he is peeking out from behind it {so it looks like the cat is holding the heart!}
  • Follow that up by stapling the cat paws in place but on the front of the design. Again, it will look like the cat is holding the heart.
  • To finish off the Valentine cat craft, add the wiggle eyes so your feline friend can see.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying proudly!

Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
