Love You SLOW Much! Valentine Holding Sloth Craft

Feeling extra crafty? This sloth is the perfect activity to do with your kids this Valentine’s day. Learn how to make it below!

This is a fun craft idea for kids to make and give their valentine!

Craft Supplies:

  • Sloth Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons or Markers
  • Scissors
  • Heart Shaped Paper Plate
  • Stapler
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Glue Stick or School Glue
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – the sloth’s head. Print out our provided template on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE per craft.
  • Grab your crayons {or any coloring medium you like} and color the sloth’s face & the heart shape in the printable.
  • Once done with the coloring, trim out each section in the printable that you just colored and set aside.
  • Grab your colored cardstock {I grabbed some brown & black} Go ahead and cut out TWO oval shaped paws and some long rectangle claws out. Glue the claw pieces to the oval paw shapes.
  • Now grab the heart shaped paper plate and your stapler.
  • Staple the sloth’s face to the paper plate piece, so it looks like she/he is peeking out from behind it {or in another view, the sloth is holding the heart!}
  • Next, go ahead and staple the sloth hands you just made, in place on the paper plate as well.
  • Finish off by gluing the heart shape “I love you SLOW much” to the center of the heart paper plate.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit {like maybe some Valentine’s Day stickers} before displaying and/or gifting away proudly!

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
