Handprint Ninja Turtle Keepsake Craft For Kids To Recreate

We are going to show YOU how simple it really is to make a one-of-a-kind ninja turtle keepsake with your child, with just a blank canvas and craft paint! That’s it!

To complete this green turtle DIY, all you need to do is paint your child’s hand green, press it on the canvas and then add a few painted on embellishments on the handprint design {and wiggle eyes} to embellish it to look like a Ninja Turtle. Complete customization is at your fingertips and it won’t cost a ton either! We are talking under $10 and that’s mainly the cost of the canvas!

Easy-peasy – just how we like it around here on Glued To My Crafts! So create some awesome cowabunga fun in your home with our simple craft tutorial below!

Happy crafting, my friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your child’s finished keepsake canvas, on our Facebook page wall so we can admire {and virtually high five} them from a far! I can’t wait to see how TURTLE-Y awesome it turns out! I just know you both are going to rock it!

Handprint Ninja Turtle Keepsake Craft For Kids To Recreate

Make your own Ninja Turtle themed craft with just some paint and your child’s handprint! See the easy tutorial here!

Craft Supplies:

  • Medium Sized Canvas
  • Washable Green Craft Paint
  • Choice of Color Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Hot Glue Gun

Directions:

  • First things first – grab your small paper plate, green craft paint and large foam paint brush.
  • Squirt the green paint on the paper plate.
  • Next up – the handprint. Pick a hand – any hand.
  • Paint your child’s hand completely green and have them press it on the canvas.
  • Carefully lift up their hand to reveal the design underneath.
  • Go ahead and use baby wipes {and a trip to the sink} to remove excess paint from their hand.
  • Now are the details. Squirt your remaining paint colors on the same paper plate from earlier.
  • Paint on a bandana design and smile on the green handprint design.
  • Follow that up by hot gluing the wiggle eyes in place.
  • To finish off our artwork, if desired, add a dotted pattern around the edge of the canvas. This was done by using the bottom end of my foam paint brush. I just dabbed it in paint, then on the canvas. At this point in time you can also add your child’s age or name around the design.
  • Finally, once done decorating, set it aside to let it dry completely.
