Christmas is a time for making crafts with your kids! This ornament snail is a great way to celebrate the holiday season while being creative and having fun. It’s easy enough for little ones to make, and pretty enough to hang on your tree. Enjoy!

  • Bulb Printable – on our landing page
  • Cardstock Paper – two sheets
  • Scissors
  • Holiday Embellishments
  • Wiggle Eye Stickers
  • Stapler
  • Pipe Cleaners

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the ornament printable listed above, on your choice of colored cardstock paper. You only need ONE ornament shape per snail craft.
  • Trim out the bulb shape with scissors
  • Decorate the ornament shape however YOU like with your embellishments. Make it sparkle and shine for your snail friend!
  • When done decorating the bulb, set it aside till later.
  • Now grab your second sheet of cardstock paper {and your leftover piece} and the scissors again.
  • Cut out a simple hot dog shape out of the cardstock for his body.
  • Go ahead and also cut out TWO antennas for on his head.
  • Next adhere some wiggle eyes and draw on a smile with the Sharpie marker, on the larger cardstock piece.
  • Finally, to finish off the Christmas Light Bulb Snail project, staple or glue the snail’s cardstock body to the decorated ornament from the first step.
  • Follow that up by adhering the antennas in place as well.
  • The last step is to bend, tie and staple the pipe cleaner in place, so you can hang it on the tree nicely.
  • Then allow it to dry completely before you display it proudly for all to see!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us, of your finished Christmas snail, on your various social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
