Directions:

  • First things first – grab our free “flowerpot hydrangea” printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Print it in color through your home printer on a single sheet of white computer paper. You only need one print per craft. Print as many as you like but only use this file for personal use or in a classroom setting, please.
  • Set aside the printable{s.}
  • Now grab your colored paper, a small dish and the single hole punch.
  • Go ahead and hole punch a good amount of “circles” that will later be the various flower petals of the hydrangeas. You will need a lot of paper punches, so go to town on this step! A good tip is to do the hole punching over a small bowl, to keep the paper circles contained till you need them.
  • Next up, grab your purple glue stick and the printable.
  • Doing one circle at a time, go ahead and place a good amount of “glue” inside of each. I like the purple glue stick for this step because you can see where you are placing down the adhesive but it later dries clear.
  • Now, working pretty fast, you are going to want to sprinkle, dump and rub your paper hole punches ALL over the glue, to fill in the “flowers.” Keep adding more glue and paper circles until you have the look you like.
  • Shake off excess pieces and set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then display proudly your colorful paper flower piece for all to see!

Customize It:

  • Instead of using paper hole punches like I did in today’s hydrangea flowers kid craft tutorial, you can also dip your finger or a clean qtip into various shades of craft paint and then make “dotted prints” in the provided circle area instead. Repeat until you have that desired look, in a different craft medium! Super fun!!!
  • Don’t forget this can also be turned into a gift! Kids can write messages in the blank areas and frame their masterpieces for the lucky receiver to enjoy as decor!
