Handprint St. Patrick's Day Poem Keepsake

Are you looking for a simple craft idea for the kids to make during the month of March? Then be sure to check out this easy and adorable handprint St. Patrick’s Day poem keepsake idea!

Get creative this St. Patrick’s Day and make something special to remember the day! It’s perfect for in the classroom with a large group or at home with a single child!

Craft Supplies:

  • Poem Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Crayon
  • Washable Green Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – grab the St. Patrick’s Day poem printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Print the free file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper {or any color you like!} You only need one print per handprint craft.
  • Now grab the green crayon.
  • Have children color in the shamrock design in the printable completely green.
  • Next up – grab the green paint and a small paper plate.
  • Squirt the paint on your paper plate.
  • Pick a hand.
  • Paint the palm and fingers of your child’s little hand completely green and press it in the center of the shamrock shape.
  • Gently wiggle each finger so the paint really transfers to the paper.
  • Lift up their hand and clean off excess paint with a baby wipe & a quick trip to the sink.
  • While they are cleaning up, go ahead and grab a heart sticker & place it in the palm of the painted shamrock handprint {or paint on a small heart instead!}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit, as well as having children sign the bottom.
  • Then display/gift proudly!
