Cotton Candy Craft Idea For Kids

Here is a clever idea that is equally fun for children of ALL ages! With just a few steps and supplies, we are creating PRETEND COTTON CANDY pieces to show off this Valentine’s Day holiday. Even moms will want to make one, right along side their child!!

With today’s unique cotton candy cone kid craft tutorial, we are taking inexpensive materials such as white cotton balls, a large paper plate and a little craft paint to make a pretend candy piece that is perfect for a bulletin board display in the classroom and/or just on the home fridge for a small crowd! Our sugar-themed candy cone kid craft idea is super easy and can be made within minutes! Then pair it with a Valentine’s Day story book & you are sure to have a hit on your hands!

This easy craft idea for kids is perfect for a pretend play session! All you need are some paper plates, cotton balls, and a little imagination.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • White Cotton Balls
  • School Glue
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Craft Scissors
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Stapler
  • Loose Craft Glitter

Directions:

  • First things first – have children COVER their large paper plate completely in cotton balls. The more the merrier!
  • Once those are in place, squirt some paint on top of the cotton balls {do a swirl or two} and have children spread it around a bit to give the cotton balls some color.
  • Go ahead and sprinkle some loose craft glitter on top of the wet paint if desired.
  • While they are working on that, cut out a simple cone from your cardstock.
  • To finish off the Pretend Paper Plate Cotton Candy Cone craft, staple your newly made cone to the covered paper plate.
  • Then set aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly!
