Craft Supplies:

Gathering your materials before starting will make the crafting process much smoother. Most items are probably already lying around your home or can easily be found at a craft store.

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Small Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Skin Tone Cardstock Paper
  • Red Scrapbook Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • Colored Markers

Directions:

Now that you have everything, it’s time to craft your Mrs. Claus masterpiece!

  • Start by taking three popsicle sticks for each Mrs. Claus craft and gluing them together in the shape of a triangle.
  • Set the triangle aside and allow it to dry completely. Repeat this step for each craft you’re making.
  • Once the glue is dry, pour some red craft paint onto a paper plate and paint the popsicle stick triangle.
  • Set it aside again to dry.
  • While the paint dries, grab your scrapbook paper and cut out a triangle that fits neatly inside the popsicle stick frame. This will serve as Mrs. Claus’s dress and body.
  • Next, use your cardstock to create the remaining details. Cut out a circular shape for her head, along with small pieces for her hair, a belt, and black boots. Don’t forget to use markers to add her facial features!
  • To assemble your Popsicle Stick Mrs. Claus, carefully glue all the paper pieces into place. Add any embellishments you’d like to give it a festive touch.
  • Once complete, let the craft dry fully before putting it on display.
  • For an extra special touch, attach a ribbon or string to the back of your finished artwork so you can easily hang your Wood Craft Stick and Paper Mrs. Claus on the Christmas tree!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
