These thumbprint caterpillars are so cute, and they’re easy to make too! Just grab some markers, ink pads and paper & you’ll be ready to go!
Card Supplies:
- Thumbprint Caterpillar Card – Landing Page
- Washable Ink Pads
- Cardstock Paper/Cards
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Markers
- Baby Wipes
- Embellishments
Directions:
- First check out the link listed above in the supply list and print out the caterpillar card template on white cardstock paper. One printable makes FOUR cards at a time.
- Use a paper trimmer to trim out each rectangle design.
- Adhere each cut out piece to a single cardstock card front.
- Next up you are going to color in the leaf design in each card.
- Now open your ink pad up.
- Place your thumb {or index finger} on the ink pad. You are going to make several fingerprints above/on the leaf design to make your “caterpillar” come to life.
- Repeat the thumbprint step on each card.
- Use baby wipes to remove excess ink off of your fingers before washing your hands completely at the sink.
- Next draw on some facial/antennas to one of the fingerprints, with a thin tip Sharpie marker.
- Add other embellishments you see fit.
- Then the last step is to write a quirky saying in the inside the card, that goes along with the “inching by to say…” saying that is on the front of the card. You can stick to a more genetic saying like “I love you” or go into more detail with what you write. Have fun with it!
- Then gift away your Caterpillar Cards to the lucky receivers!
