Easter Egg Superhero Puppets

When it comes to kids craft tutorials you have seen on Glued To My Crafts in the past few years, I generally like to keep it gender neutral, thrifty and super simple for those of all ages to recreate. That’s just how I roll around here and that’s what you can expect {especially with today’s egg superhero puppet tutorial!}

One of my “brilliant” ideas that I came up with recently, is a great way to recycle those cheap plastic eggs we all will be seeing soon ALL Easter long. Not to mention, this crafty DIY idea is very gender neutral – meaning boys and girls will get a kick creating it together! It even has handprint cutouts mixed in so it’s a great keepsake as well!

So without further ado – today I present to you our Plastic Egg Superheroes kid craft idea! Perfect for crime-fighting and Easter themed craft-time!

You can display them in your home or play with them like puppets – the choice is yours! Find all the details you need to know, in the full tutorial below! Happy crafting, my friends!!!

Upcycled Plastic Egg Superhero Puppets - Easter Kid Craft

This crafty idea is perfect for any age group, from preschoolers to tweens and teens. Not only will they love getting creative by recreating their own superheroes from items around the house, but it’s also a great way to encourage their imaginative play!

Craft Supplies:

  • Plastic Eggs – one per craft
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Gun Sticks
  • Craft Felt
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Scrapbook Stickers
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • For younger children, please have adult supervision with the hot glue gun!!!
  • Go ahead and get your glue gun hot and ready. If you need to, go ahead and hot glue your TWO plastic egg pieces together {a fine line of glue on both edges and then pressed together} so they won’t separate while you craft/play with them.
  • Then grab your craft felt, marker and scissors.
  • Go ahead and use the marker to trace your child’s hand on the craft felt.
  • Trim it out to make the superhero’s cape.
  • Next, out the remaining felt, cut out a long, skinny rectangular piece for the mask.
  • Grab your wiggle eyes and hot glue them to your mask piece.
  • Now take your felt pieces and hot glue them to the egg.
  • To finish off your Plastic Egg Superheroes, add an “S” on the front, as well drawing a smiling face with marker on the front.
  • Then add other embellishments you see fit before letting it dry completely and playing with proudly!!!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
