Handprint Clothespin Butterflies – Kid Craft
Hi my dear crafty friends! Today we are going to turn ordinary craft supplies like scrapbook paper and wooden flat clothespins, into one-of-a-kind pieces with our latest and greatest Handprint Clothespin Butterflies kid’s craft tutorial!
Then we are going to use our newly {and simply stunning!} created butterfly creations as spring decor, a keepsake gift idea OR have an afternoon of puppet play with them.
Whatever you and your child decide to do with the finished masterpieces, I hope you had fun making and playing with them!

Butterfly Puppet Craft Supplies:
- Wood Flat Clothespins {one per butterfly craft}
- Craft Paint – any colors or type you have!
- Small Paper Plate
- Small Paint Brushes
- Kid Craft Scissors
- School Glue
- Scrapbook Paper (think bright spring colors and prints!}
- Pencil
- Black Sharpie Marker
- optional – small stickers, rhinestones, glitter glue
Directions:
Step 1. First squirt some craft paint on your paper plate. Have children paint one side of their clothespins {one per butterfly} however they like. Add black eyes with a fine tip Sharpie marker. Set aside to let them dry completely.
Step 2. Next grab your scrapbook paper and a pencil. Carefully trace around your child’s hands on the paper. Repeat so you have two handprints per butterfly.
Step 3. Now cut the handprints out with the scissors, as well as some antennas {two per butterfly}.
Step 4. Once the handprints are cut out, go ahead and glue those along with the antenna cutouts, to the back of your painted clothespins.
Step 5. To finish off the handprint butterfly puppet craft- have children decorate the wings and the body however they like.
Step 6. Then once you are done decorating, set it all aside to let it dry completely before playing and/or displaying proudly!!!
