Wooden Spoon Leprechaun - St. Patrick's Day Kid Craft

Craft Supplies:

  • Wooden Craft Spoons – one per leprechaun puppet
  • Green/Orange/Black Sharpies {or craft paint & paint brushes}
  • Green Colored Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • optional materials – other embellishments like small bows, rhinestones, glitter etc.

Directions:

  • First the fun part! Have children draw {or paint} their wooden spoon however they like. I went with a green body, orange beard and black facial features.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • While children are working on that – cut out a simple green hat from the cardstock.
  • To finish off the Wooden Spoon Leprechaun – simply glue the paper hat to the wooden spoon and add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter, rhinestones etc.}
  • To display, you can add magnets to the back, stick it in a flower pot or hot glue some string for easy hanging!
