Leprechaun Handprint Card – St. Patrick’s Day Craft
Although St. Patrick’s Day can be short-lived and often forgotten – I still like to do extra crafts with my son, to really celebrate this time of year.
And since we are military and pretty far away from family, crafts like today’s Handprint Leprechaun Card Idea is extra special to send to the grandparents far away. Sides that – with kids growing so fast these days, it’s great to create keepsakes throughout the year, to remember those once tiny little hands.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s celebrate the last few days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day by grabbing our supplies and making a few of these adorable Leprechaun cards {or canvas art} to send to friends & family. Don’t forget to make one for yourself too and throw it in a scrapbook for safe keeping!
Happy crafting, my friends! Please don’t forget to share pictures of your child’s leprechaun made from a handprint, on our Facebook page! #gluedtomycrafts

- Orange Craft Paint
- Black Craft Paint
- Glue Stick
- Craft Scissors
- Paint Brush
- Baby Wipes
- Black Sharpie Marker
- optional materials – scrapbook stickers
Directions:
- First things first – pick a hand. Any hand will do!
- Squirt some orange craft paint on the paper plate. Dip the paint brush in the paint.
- Now simply paint the palm of your child’s hand completely orange and press it on the white cardstock paper. Clean off hands with baby wipes and set aside the handprint to let it dry completely.
- Next up – cut out a circle {face} out of your beige cardstock and draw a face on it. Then trim out a hat out of the green/yellow/black cardstock for the leprechaun.
- Once the handprint is completely dry, glue on the cardstock pieces you just created.
- To finish the craft, trim out the handprint leprechaun you just created and glue it onto another piece of cardstock to make a card.
- Then add other embellishments you like to the front, along with some cute words inside and mail it off to a unsuspecting receiver!
- Don’t forget to share pictures of your handprint leprechaun beard card before you stick it in the mail! #gluedtomycrafts
