Clothespin Leprechaun Puppets
St. Patrick’s Day is FAST approaching and we at Glued To My Crafts have you covered with ALL your crafty needs!
Today we are going to encourage YOU and your child to turn ordinary wooden clothespins into a one-of-a-kind “lucky” friends with ease! Then use your newly created Flat Pin Leprechauns as St. Patrick’s Day décor, fun party favors OR maybe even have an afternoon of puppet play with them instead! The choice is yours!

PAIR YOUR LEPRECHAUN PUPPETS WITH —> Handprint Leprechaun Card
Craft Supplies:
- Wooden Flat Pins/Clothespins – one per leprechaun puppet
- Green Sharpie Marker
- Orange Sharpie Marker
- Black Sharpie Marker
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Gold Cardstock Paper
- Thick School Glue
- Paper Craft Scissors
- optional materials – other embellishments like small stickers, rhinestones, glitter etc.
Directions:
- First the fun part! Have children draw {or paint} their wooden spoon however they like. We went with a green body in the center, finished off with black boots on the tips and orange beards in the center.
- While children are working on that – cut out a simple black hat from the cardstock and a belt from the gold.
- To finish off the Clothespin Leprechaun – simply glue the paper hat to the wooden spoon, as well as the belt to the center.
- Then add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter, rhinestones etc}
- To display, you can add magnets to the back, stick it in a flower pot or hot glue some string for easy hanging!
