Paper Plate Football Craft for Kids: How to Make It

Football Craft Idea For Kids To Make On Game Day!

Continuing on w/the football theme from yesterday on Glued To My Crafts – today I’m sharing this “Paper Plate Football” kid craft idea with you all.

We all know once school starts back up again and the weather starts to cool down – football season is upon us.

Although I’m not a football fan myself {I just went to a few games in high school to socialize} I do have a HUGE Ohio State fan living in my house.

So in honor of him and the upcoming fall season, I made this EASY tissue paper football w/my son. It’s now parading on our fridge and my husband is pretty proud {Go Bucks!}

Keep scrolling for all the details and supply list, so you can recreate it with your child today! Happy crafting, my friends! Please don’t forget to share pictures of your finished footballs made from paper plates, on our Facebook page afterwards! I can’t wait to see how awesome they turn out! #gluedtomycrafts

Paper Plate Football Craft

Looking for a fun activity to get your kids excited about football season? Try this easy paper plate football craft! It’s simple, creative, and oh-so fun.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Brown/Tan Tissue Paper
  • Pen or Pencil
  • School Glue
  • Black Glitter Glue
  • Paper Scissors

Directions:

  • First draw/cut out your football shape from a paper plate. I just imagined an “eye” and went from there.
  • Next, cut your tan tissue paper into your small squares.
  • Follow that up by putting a good layer of glue all over the paper plate you just made.
  • Have your child place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the plate piece is completely covered.
  • Cut some strips out of white cardstock and glue on the paper plate, to give the look of stitching.
  • Finally, let your Paper Plate Football dry completely before displaying proudly.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
