Handprint Orange Pumpkin Gift Bags

The next couple days, I’m going to be sharing ways to dress up your treats for your Halloween and fall celebrations. All the craft ideas I’ll be sharing on Glued To My Crafts, will be great for school parties, playdates with friends and even trick-or-treating. I seriously can’t wait to hit publish on all of them!

Till then – today I’m starting with these Pumpkin Gift Bags that my son had his hands on {literally!} Like seriously – how cute is our “greenery” for the pumpkin?!

Now for the non-crafty moms – I know, you all think “Geez, stop with the craftiness. I don’t have time – nor am I crafty like you.”

I’m begging you – please take a second to look at this handprint pumpkin bag craft I’m presenting you. All it is, is orange paper bag {pre-colored} wooden clothespins and a paper handprint cutout. That’s it!

I’m not asking anyone to buy special equipment or spend hours on these gift bags. I’m just asking you to give it a chance and stand back when everyone tells you they really like what you threw together.

Plus when you involve your preschooler in the process, not only are you getting the project done – you are making memories together. Even better – the whole process literally takes 30 minutes or less!

Now let’s take a better look at what I used to make each handprint pumpkin gift bag:

A bottle of green paint, a foam brush, blue scissors, wooden clothespins, orange construction paper, and a white paper plate are arranged on a table—perfect supplies for creating Handprint Pumpkin Gift Bags.

These charming bags are not only a fun activity for kids and adults alike but also a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your gifts. Whether you’re looking to surprise someone with a homemade treat or simply want to decorate your home with a unique fall flair, these handprint pumpkin gift bags are sure to delight.

Directions:

  • Quickly paint the your palm of child’s hand {or foot} and make prints on the construction paper. {I say quickly, because the paint might dry on their skin fast – making the prints not come out right} Also make sure to leave room between each print so you can cut it out.
  • Once you are done making your handprint/footprints – set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Paint your clothespins completely green. Set them aside to allow them to dry completely.
  • Next up -cut out your child’s green handprints from the paper. Add a message to the back of the cutout for a special touch.
  • Stuff your goodie bags with your favorite party treats. Think small trinkets, candy, maybe even a stuffed friend!
  • Fold the top of the bag down and secure with one handprint, clothespin and some raffia for a decorative look.
  • Then gift your Handprint Pumpkin Gift Bags away proudly!

And there you have it!  You have little gift bags that look like little pumpkins! Super cute, right?!

Now I’m not pushing the crafting envelope on this one BUT if you can’t find gift bags that are orange already – you can purchase white/brown lunch sacks and paint them orange instead.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I share another “handy” way to dress up your treats. Tomorrow just might be a bit more spooky than this one 😉

Till then – check out our Handprint Pumpkin Keepsake craft tutorial for even more crafty fall inspiration today! You can also stay up to date on our Facebook page for even MORE crafty fall inspiration!
