RELATED —> Paper Plate Spider Web

A cardboard box contains a black sheet decorated with white paint streaks made by rolling marbles through the paint, creating a marbled art pattern that resembles a spider web. The corner of a wooden table is visible in the background.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large, Empty Shoe Box
  • Black Construction Paper
  • White Craft Paint
  • Washi Tape/Tape
  • Marbles/Old Beads {ADULT SUPERVISION PLEASE!}

Directions:

  1. To make your super cool spider web design – first tape down your black construction paper to the shoe box.
  2. Squirt some paint in the corner of the box and drop your marbles/beads in.
  3. Hand over to your child and ask them to roll the marbles around in the paint – making a fun marble art design.
  4. Once you have the design you like – remove the paper {repeat multiple times} and let it dry completely.
  5. If you have some spider stickers – they would make a great addition to this craft. Even some gray handprints made to look like spiders, would make a great addition.

A Halloween craft featuring a black paper with a marbled art spider web, decorated with a purple handprint spider with googly eyes, white paper fangs, and an orange pipe cleaner. The background includes Halloween-themed paper.

Now I know I’m pushing this as a Halloween/Fall craft but if you have different colored construction paper and various shades of paint – you can make this spider craft all year long with a tye dye theme. This craft would also make AMAZING homemade wrapping paper – just saying.

To wrap up this post, I just want to tell you to be sure to save that fabulous shoe box for future craft use! Smaller shoeboxes are great too but I loved how the marbles were able to move more freely because of the large box size! You just never know when it will come in handy and I really do hope today’s quick Halloween kid craft tutorial inspired you!!!!
