Creepy Crawly Styrofoam Cup Spiders - Halloween Kid Craft

Getting creative this weekend with the kids? Try out this fun and easy Styrofoam Cup Spider craft idea together! Watch as those little hands create an amazing masterpiece to be proud of – the possibilities are endless!

Craft Supplies:

  • Styrofoam Cups
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Black Pipe Cleaners
  • Basic Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • White Cardstock Paper

Directions:

  • Set up shop where you can get a bit messy. Be sure to have baby wipes near by too!
  • First things first – squirt some craft paint on your paper plate.
  • Now grab the cup and place it upside down on a flat surface.
  • Using the foam paint brush, have your child paint their cup completely black.
  • When done painting, set aside the painted cup to let it dry completely.
  • While that is drying – grab your pipe cleaner and scissors.
  • Go ahead and cut your THREE pipe cleaners into SIX equal halves for the spider legs.
  • To finish off the spider craft – press {or staple} the six pipe cleaners into the side of painted cup and shape them a bit so they look like spider legs. {The metal from the pipe cleaners make it so easy to stick them into the painted cups.}
  • Then glue on the spider’s eyes and cut out some white fangs to add on the cup as well.
  • Now display your creepy new spiders in places that might make people scream! Hint hint! 😉
