Let the magic of creativity light up your child’s life! With this simple DIY activity, you and your little one can make a memory that will last a lifetime.
Crafting, especially for holidays like Halloween, creates memories that last a lifetime. It’s a chance for families to come together, get creative, and celebrate in a fun, hands-on way. Plus, these simple activities can inspire a lifelong love for art and expression in your children.
By turning simple materials like popsicle sticks into imaginative creations, you remind kids that it’s not about the resources you have, but the creativity you bring to the table. And isn’t that the true spirit of Halloween magic?
These witch fingers aren’t just about fun. Crafting also helps with children’s fine motor skills, sparking creativity, and building a sense of accomplishment when they see their handiwork. Plus, the simplicity of the materials makes it budget-friendly and accessible to everyone.
Craft Supplies:
Gather your supplies before you begin. Each of these items is simple, affordable, and kid-friendly.
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
- School Glue
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- Green/Black Paint Pens
Directions:
Start by laying down newspaper or a crafting mat to avoid messes.
- First grab one popsicle stick and your green paint pen.
- Have children paint their piece completely green.
- Next grab your black paint pen and finish off with some black “wrinkles” all over.
- Repeat for each piece you want to make. Set aside.
- While those are drying, grab your black cardstock and scissors & cut out a pointy fingernail for each piece.
- To finish off the Popsicle Stick Witch Finger – have children glue their cardstock pieces in place on the painted popsicle sticks to represent nails.
- Then finish off with any other “witchy” embellishments for a one-of-a-kind look & set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
