Ready to whip up some creative fun with the kids? This Potato Masher Ice Cream Sundae craft is a delightful way to turn everyday items into a colorful masterpiece!

  • First, print our free printable on a sheet of cardstock. Each print gives you five chances to create this sweet craft! Pick one of the ice cream dish designs and bring it to life with your favorite coloring tools, like crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
  • Once your dish is colored in, carefully cut it out. Glue your beautifully decorated dish onto the center of a fresh sheet of cardstock. This will be the canvas for your ice cream masterpiece!
  • Now for the fun part! Pour a generous amount of craft paint onto a paper plate. This will be your palette of ice cream flavors.
  • Take your potato masher and dip it into the paint, making sure the bottom is completely covered.
  • Firmly press the paint-covered masher onto the paper, right above your dish, to stamp your first “ice cream scoop.” Repeat this step two or three more times, stacking the scoops to build a tall, colorful sundae.
  • While the paint is still wet, add a dash of magic by sprinkling some loose craft glitter over your scoops.
  • No sundae is complete without toppings! Add a fluffy cotton ball on top for a dollop of “whipped cream.” Feel free to add any other fun embellishments you can think of – maybe some small beads for sprinkles or a red pom-pom for a cherry!
  • Set your creation aside to dry completely. Once it’s ready, find the perfect spot to display your vibrant and unique ice cream sundae art for everyone to admire.
