Summer is not only a season for outdoor adventures but also a brilliant time to engage little ones in creative crafts that bring those outdoor elements inside. One such magical activity is recreating our latest and greatest “seashell wand” tutorial that I’m sharing with you all today.
These wands capture the essence of the beach and can spark imaginative play, becoming a cherished part of your child’s summer collection. All you need is some cardstock paper, crepe paper and a large craft stick to bring it to life!
Craft Supplies:
- Light Tan Cardstock Paper
- Seashell Printable – on our landing page
- School Glue
- Loose Craft Glitter
- Scissors
- Crepe Paper
- Wavy Popsicle Stick – one per wand
- Stapler
- Embellishments
Directions:
- First things first – print out the blank seashell template, listed above, on a single sheet of cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per craft.
- Next up – color/decorate the printable however you choose.
- When done, trim it out and discard excess paper.
- Now grab your crepe paper and tear/cut off a few long stripes.
- The final step for this wand craft is to staple the crepe paper pieces to the bottom of the decorated seashell cutout and then staple that combination to one end of your wavy popsicle stick. You should be able to hold the other end and the seashell stay in place.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit and then “wave” your summer themed piece all over to give it the appearance that it is flying through the air.
