Super Easy Winter Penguin Craft Idea

Get your kids ready for the holiday season and have some fun with this creative handprint penguin and igloo craft! Perfect for keeping little hands busy on a chilly December day.

Super Easy Winter Penguin Craft Idea

With the holidays just around the corner, get your little ones busy crafting their very own winter penguins with this easy and fun craft idea!

Craft Supplies:

  • Light Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Igloo Printable – on our landing page
  • Large, White Cotton Balls
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • School Glue
  • Snowflake Stickers
  • Googly Eyes

Directions:

  • First things first – trace your hand {either left or right} on a single sheet of black cardstock paper.
  • Use scissors to trim out the handprint design from the black paper.
  • Next grab your igloo printout.
  • Trim out ONE igloo shape from the printable {while saving the other for repeating the craft!}
  • Before you set aside the printable for now, cut out a simple small heart shape for the penguin’s belly, from one of the corners.
  • Glue that small cutout to the center of the black handprint cutout.
  • To finish off the handprint penguin design, glue on a small orange triangle nose and his googly eyes.
  • We are heading towards the final steps! Grab your sheet of light blue cardstock paper, along with the handprint cutout and igloo shape.
  • Glue the igloo down first.
  • Follow that up with the penguin next to it.
  • Finally, glue a line of cotton balls for the snow, under the igloo.
  • Finish off with some snowflake stickers all around to tie the theme together.
  • Allow it to dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see!
