Craft Supplies:

  • White Coffee Filters
  • Stapler
  • Washable Markers
  • Spray Bottle w/tap water
  • Paper Plate or Paper Towels
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Halloween Stickers

Directions:

  • First, grab TWO coffee filters per crystal ball craft you want to make today.
  • Stack them on top of each other and flatten them out with your hands.
  • Take your stapler and secure the coffee filters together so they don’t come apart. Two-three staplers along the edge should do.
  • Now decorate the coffee filter stack, however you want with the various markers. The more colors you add, the better!
  • Next grab the spray bottle with water and spray the coffee filters down, until the color starts to bleed throughout them.
  • When done with the water step, lay the wet coffee filters on a paper plate or paper towels to let them dry. It’s VERY important that they are completely dry before moving onto the final steps.
  • Once dry enough, it’s time to decorate! First cut out a large “trapezoid” from the black cardstock paper. This will become the “stand” for the crystal ball.
  • Go ahead and staple that to the bottom of the colored coffee filter piece.
  • Finally – add some Halloween stickers inside the design. Some googly eyes is a great addition as well!
  • And that’s it! Now display your coffee filter crystal ball creations proudly for all to see! BTW – these would look perfect on a window that gets LOTS of light throughout the day.
