Popsicle Stick Christmas Candle

Handprint Christmas Candle Craft

You and your child are going to create so much HOLIDAY CHEER with our latest popsicle stick Christmas candle & greenery craft tutorial!

To recreate it, all you need to do is glue together some craft sticks, paint it and add some handprint cutouts to the sides, to bring it to life within minutes this season! Not to mention because it’s so easy to recreate in your home, you can make several at a time, hot glue some magnets to the back and gift them away as well! Hello easy kid-made presents under the tree for family and friends!

Popsicle Stick Christmas Candle

With just a few minutes of your time, you can make an easy handprint Christmas candle craft with your child, that will bring joy to loved ones this holiday season. 

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Low Temp Glue Gun
  • White Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Scissors
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Poinsettia Flower Stickers or Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – get the glue gun hot and ready.
  • Assemble the base of your Christmas candle by gluing THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini popsicle sticks together to look like a fence door {3 next to each other and the mini popsicle sticks across to secure in place.}
  • Allow it to dry completely. Repeat for each candle you want to make today.
  • Now grab your white craft paint, paint brush and the popsicle stick shape you just made.
  • Go ahead and paint the popsicle stick shape completely white.
  • At this point in time {and while the paint is still wet} you can sprinkle some loose craft glitter on top.
  • Set aside to allow it to dry completely.
  • Now grab your green cardstock paper, pencil and scissors.
  • Trace and cut out TWO handprints for the greenery that will go around the candle.
  • At this point in time you should also cut out the “flame” for the top of the candle, from the yellow cardstock paper.
  • Finally, the last step – gluing all the paper pieces in place on the painted wood shape. Start with the handprint “greenery” on the bottom and then work your way up.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!

Popsicle Stick Christmas Candle Craft

All you need is a few standard materials, some creativity and lots of holiday cheer!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • 3 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • 2 Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • Craft Paint white
  • Cardstock Paper green and yellow
  • Embellishments
  • Low Temp Glue Gun
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or Pen

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:

  • First things first - get the glue gun hot and ready.
  • Assemble the base of your Christmas candle by gluing THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini popsicle sticks together to look like a fence door {3 next to each other and the mini popsicle sticks across to secure in place.}
