Popsicle Stick Candles - Birthday Kid Craft Idea

Birthday Candles Made From Popsicle Sticks

Inspired by my birthday last week and just the fact that you should celebrate EVERYDAY – today I present to YOU our Popsicle Stick Birthday Candles idea!

Perfect for pretend play {we put them in playdough} or you can actually use them for actual cake decorations!

Best part? They are super simple to make so the kids can get involved in the creation part!!!

Did I mention they only cost a few cents to make? Awesome – right?! So let’s grab those supplies and CELEBRATE in true crafty style!

Popsicle Stick Candles - Birthday Kid Craft Idea

Looking for a fun and easy craft project for your kids? These popsicle stick candles are perfect for a birthday party activity!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Craft Paint {or paint markers}
  • School Glue
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • First things first – paint your jumbo popsicle sticks {one per birthday candle} however you like. You can do a solid color or even a patterned design.
  • Once done, add a line of school glue and loose craft glitter on top.
  • When done, set aside to let them dry completely.
  • While those are drying, go ahead and cut out some “flames” from the yellow cardstock paper.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Candles – glue the paper flames in place and let them dry completely before displaying/playing with proudly!
