Paper Rocket Puppet - Kid Craft Idea For Outer Space Fun!

Rocket Craft Idea For Kids

As always, at Glued To My Crafts we want to encourage you to do something creative every day. But we know sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.

This is why I strive to make it as simple as I can for my readers.

My favorite tutorials as of late have been a basic print, color and cut type craft. Today’s space rocket idea is just one of the latest craft-visions I have come up with. We are going to turn basic white paper into puppet masterpieces that are perfect for outer space!

Inspired by some pretty orange curling ribbon I recently found at my local Dollar Tree {it reminded me of flames coming from a spaceship} I’m going to share ALL the details of how to make this paper space rocket come to life within minutes. Then we are going to add a simple popsicle stick to the bottom of our masterpieces, so it can become a “toy” that you can play with afterwards.

So let the countdown begin as we make paper rocket ships together! 3-2-1 – BLAST OFF! Find all the details and free download below for this rocket ship preschool craft idea. Happy crafting, my friends!

Customize It:

  • Instead of orange curling ribbon for the spaceship flames, you can use orange colored ribbon scraps, yarn, paper or even tissue paper strips from your craft stash.
  • Don’t have the adhesive tip popsicle sticks? No worries. Just pull out the school glue or hot glue gun to secure a regular popsicle stick in place.
  • Another way to enjoy this craft and make it your own – cut out the small center of the window in the rocket and add your child’s face for a custom look!

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
