Cupcake Liner Avocado Card

With a few simple materials, get crafty with your kiddos and make these cupcake liner avocados! Perfect for gifting ANY day of the year!

Two handmade greeting cards feature a cheerful cupcake liner avocado friend with smiling faces, brown paper pits, and googly eyes, set against pink backgrounds and displayed on a colorful, dotted surface.

Using inexpensive large GREEN cupcake liners I already had on hand, I was able to make a quirky but adorable card within minutes!

All I needed from there, besides the cupcake liners, was some colored cardstock, my trusty scissors and my glue stick. That’s it! I bet you could do this cupcake liner craft right now with what YOU have on hand! No excuses my friends!

On that note, I just hope you are inspired by my quick paper avocado card tutorial and that you make your own quac themed cards to spread some cheer today! You can easily write messages like “You GUAC my world” or “You are everything I AVO-WANTED” to really tie it all together!

Everyone LOVES avocados, so let’s MASH up some crafty pieces today! Find all the details and the full craft tutorial for kids, below! Happy crafting, my friends!

Cupcake Liner Avocado Friend Cards

Kids will adore these easy and fun to make avocado friend cards! This project is the perfect way to use up those cupcake liners in your craft stash.

Card Supplies:

  • Large GREEN Cupcake Liners
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Medium Sized Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue

Directions:

  1. First make your card. I went with a regular rectangle card shape. You just need to make sure your cupcake liner will fit to the front of the card.
  2. Go ahead and make a smaller piece {mine was pink} to add to the card front and make it pop. Adhere it in place.
  3. Now you are ready for the “avocado” part. Grab your green cupcake liner and flatten it out with your fingers.
  4. Take your scissors and cut out what I would call a “bowling pin” shape from it. You want the bottom to be slightly larger than the top, to look like the inside of an avocado.
  5. Put some glue on the back of your flattened cupcake liner piece and glue it onto some brown cardstock paper.
  6. If the edges are sticking up, add more glue so it really sticks.
  7. Now take the scissors and trim around it, leaving a slight rim, to really make it look like an avocado cut in half.
  8. Once you have that shape, go ahead and glue that to your card.
  9. Next up – the embellishments. Grab the tan cardstock.
  10. Cut out a circle for the “pit.”
  11. Go ahead and glue that to the cardstock.
  12. Now take your black marker and draw on a simple mouth shape.
  13. Finally, take the wiggle eyes and secure those in place.
  14. Add other embellishments if desired.
  15. BRAVO-CADO! You are done! Now set aside your cupcake liner avocado card masterpiece to let it dry completely before gifting them away!
