Torn Paper Avocado Craft Idea For Kids

Today’s paper avocado craft idea is just something quirky I came up with this afternoon. Honestly, there really was no “vision” behind it. I was just playing around in my craft space and before I knew it, it was something I couldn’t resist sharing with you all.

To create my avocado-shaped friend, all I did was take some simple green construction paper and glue school to pull it together. Basically I “mashed” a few craft supplies I already had on hand {and you probably do too} to create this paper avocado friend within minutes.

So friends – enough chit chat from me! Let’s SMASH up our creativity juices and make some one-of-kind quac-themed pieces together! Find all the details and the free printable below! Happy crafting, my friends!

Torn Paper Avocado Craft Idea For Kids

This fun paper avocado craft is perfect for kids of all ages and requires very few materials! Just download our provided file and decorate!

Craft Supplies:

Before you get started, gather the following simple materials. Most of these are likely already lying around the house:

  • Light Green Construction Paper
  • Dark Green Construction Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • AVO GOOD DAY Printable – on our landing page
  • School Glue
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Embellishments

Directions:

Get ready for some hands-on fun! Follow these easy steps to create a vibrant, textured avocado artwork your child will be proud of.

  • First things first – print out the provided blank avocado printable listed above, on a single piece of white cardstock paper.
  • Have kids color in the “leaf/stem” in the design. They can use any type of coloring material and/or colors.
  • Next up, help your child cut/tear their two colors of green construction paper into small pieces.
  • Now have them use school glue to glue those pieces inside the “avocado” design.
  • Follow that up by helping them cut out a small heart shape for the “avocado pit” in the craft. Have them glue it in the center of their torn paper design.
  • The final step is to have kids add their own personalization. They can add wiggle eyes, a smile, etc.
  • When they are done decorating, allow the finished avocado torn paper card design to dry completely before gifting away.
  • Be sure to also snap a photo and share it with the hashtag #GluedToMyCrafts or tag us to showcase their beautiful artwork. We’d love to see what they create!

The recipient will surely treasure this handmade card, whether it’s Mom, Dad, a teacher, or a best friend!
