Paper & Clothespin Unicorn Craft

This is a great craft idea for kids! Turn clothespins into unicorns with some simple paper details. Let your child’s imagination run wild as they create their very own unicorn puppet.

Paper & Clothespin Unicorn - Kid Craft Idea

Today’s Paper & Clothespin Unicorn creation is a REAL stand up kinda gal! Literally!!!

We are taking inexpensive wooden clothespins and cardstock paper to make a one-of-a-kind unicorn craft idea, that is great as a decoration and/or a pretend play puppet!

Paper & Clothespin Unicorn - Kid Craft Idea

This is a fun and easy way to keep the little ones entertained, and you can be sure that they will love showing off their creation.

Craft Supplies:

  • Unicorn Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons or Markers
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Wooden Clothespins

Directions:

  • First print out the free unicorn body template printable on white cardstock paper. You only need one body printable per craft. Print as many as you like!
  • Next grab your crayons and/or markers. Color the inside and the hair of your unicorn however YOU like!
  • If desired, add some embellishments like glitter, stickers – whatever the heart desires. Make that unicorn as magical as you are!
  • Once done, cut out the unicorn shape. Discard excess paper and set aside your unicorn body.
  • Now grab TWO {or four} clothespins per unicorn. Using the same crayons and/or markers, decorate each one to represent the legs of the unicorn.
  • Finally, when done decorating the wooden legs, PIN them to your paper unicorn cutout. Adjust them so the unicorn stands nicely on it’s own.
  • When done, display proudly!
