Directions:
- First download and print the free chimney printable above. Print it in color on some simple white cardstock. You only need ONE printable per craft. Set it aside.
- Next grab your paper plate, craft paint, kitchen sponge and scissors.
- Using the scissors, cut out a long rectangle from the kitchen sponge, as well as a small square. These will be your “stamps” to make the chimney come to life.
- Now squirt your two colors of brown craft paint on the paper plate.
- One by one, dip your newly made sponge pieces in the paint and then press them on the printable, under Santa. Just like bricks, we are going to layer them to look like a chimney under him.
- Alternate your stamped “bricks” and continue on until there’s a full chimney under Santa.
- When done, set aside your sponges and paper plate. Discard them after the craft.
- If desired – sprinkle some gold glitter on the wet paint of your craft, for an added holiday touch. This is totally optional though!
- Now grab your brown cardstock, black marker, scissors and glue stick.
- Cut off a long rectangular piece that will be the “roof” of our craft. Go ahead and secure that to your decorate paper with the stamped chimney, towards the bottom of the paper.
- Finally, to finish the Mixed Media Santa in a Chimney craft, use the black Sharpie marker to draw on some “roof tiles” and give your brown cardstock some dimension.
- Then set it all aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly for ALL to see!
