Grinch Stuck In Popsicle Stick Chimney Craft

Get the kids laughing with today’s Grinch Stuck in a Chimney kid craft idea {boy that is mouth full!}

Using inexpensive wood craft sticks, craft paint and some simple cardstock paper – you too can recreate this “Christmas-y” kid craft activity in no time! Then watch the movies or read the book afterwards to celebrate your masterpiece!!!

You can also use your piece as a festive decor item or even as an ornament on the Christmas tree! Whatever you do – I hope you enjoy making it! Just keep scrolling to learn how we pulled it all together within minutes!

Popsicle Stick Grinch Craft

I’m SO excited to be sharing this fun kids craft idea today – it’s inspired by the classic holiday movie The Grinch! Let your little ones make and take home their very own popsicle stick craft piece inspired by the green grinch!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Tulip Yellow Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • School Glue
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • First assemble the base of your chimney by gluing your popsicle sticks together {see above picture for example}
  • Next have children paint the front of their popsicle stick shape completely black {or any color they like!}
  • Finish off with some yellow Tulip Puffy Paint to give the chimney “definition.”
  • Set aside to let it dry.
  • Now grab your cardstock. Cut out some Grinch legs, a half circle butt and pointy shoes.
  • Glue those together and add white “cotton balls” near the boots, for a festive look.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Grinch Stuck in a Chimney craft, have children glue their cardstock embellishments to the popsicle stick design.
  • Then display proudly!!!
