Yarn Unicorn Hair - 5 Minute Paper Craft Idea

Get those fingers moving and pull together this yarn & paper unicorn craft idea! Perfect for rainy days or indoor fun.

Craft Supplies:

  • Unicorn Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Tacky Glue
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils or Markers

Directions:

  • First print out the free template printable on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per unicorn craft.
  • Next grab your yarn and scissors. Have children cut MULTIPLE small strands of yarn. I don’t have an extra number of how many but you will need as much as you like 🙂
  • Now grab your tacky glue {or other choice of adhesive} and put a good amount down in the hair section of the printable.
  • Start laying your yarn on top of it, until the section is completely covered.
  • Once done, add some more glue and sprinkle some glitter in the empty spots. Adhere your wiggle eye in place.
  • Then grab your crayons and color in anything you like on the printable.
  • When done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then display your paper and yarn unicorn creation proudly for all to see!

And that’s it! Easy peasy fun, right? I sure hope you like it! Not to mention if you change the colors of the unicorn’s yarn hair, you can add it to various holidays like Valentine’s Day, Christmas or even Halloween. So many ideas – I hope you run with it!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
