Inspired by the beautiful spring season we are currently in, today I present to YOU our latest & absolute GREATEST thumbprint cherry blossom tree branch kids craft idea. It simply stunning and will POP from the paper, right in front of you!

With the FREE tree branch printable I’m providing in the tutorial below, you will be well on your way to pulling it together within minutes and on the cheap too! All you need is a home printer, a pink colored ink pad and some white paper. That’s it – three basic materials you probably already have in your home!

From there, your child just needs to “stamp” a few of their thumbprints along the tree branch design, to make the pink cherry blossom flowers BLOOM on the paper. Easy peasy – just how we like it on our website!

Just print out the freebie and have your child add their painted thumbprints to make the cherry blossoms come to life on paper!

Craft Supplies:

  • Blank Tree Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Pink, Washable Ink Pads
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First things first – print the free cherry blossom branch template printable {listed above} on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per craft. Print as many as you like but please only use our file for personal use or in the classroom.
  • Next have children press their thumb on the pink ink pad and then press it down, several times, near & around the branch in the printable.
  • Repeat until it looks like a blooming cherry blossom tree.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit {maybe some fun bird stickers on the branches like I did!}
  • Then display/gift your thumbprint cherry blossom artwork piece proudly for all to see!
