Notes from the heart. These fingerprint flower note cards are the perfect way to show your loved ones how much you care!
Craft Supplies:
- White Cardstock Paper
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Premade Cardstock Cards
- Washable Tempera Paint
- Small Paper Plate
- Green Sharpie Marker
- Glue Stick or Tape Runner Adhesive
- Gem Finishing Accents
Directions:
- First trim down a piece of cardstock paper that will go on the front of your pre-made card. You will want it to be slightly smaller than the pre-made card. You are welcome to do any size, shape or even change up the color if you like! Just remember to pick paper that will allow your fingerprint flowers to really stand out on it!
- Repeat the above step for each card you want to make.
- Now is the fun part for kids – creating their fingerprint flowers! Go ahead and squirt a few piles of different colors of craft paint on the paper plate.
- Starting with the yellow craft paint, have children carefully dip their index finger into it and then press it somewhere on the cardstock piece to start of the center of the flower.
- Then have go back for ANOTHER color that they stamped four/six times around the yellow dot to make the petals of the flower.
- Repeat those steps for as many flowers they want on the card front.
- Once the petals for the fingerprint flowers are done, grab green sharpie marker and draw some green stems coming from the flowers.
- When done making the flowers, set aside the paper piece to let it dry completely {quick tip – to speed up paint drying time, dry your designs with a blow dryer on lowest setting.}
- To finish off your handmade flower note cards, simply glue your finished flower design piece to the front of a cardstock card.
- Then gift away as is or write sweet messages inside to mail to a lucky receiver. Remember, you can also make these handmade flower cards in bulk, stack them on top of each other and wrap some ribbon around for a simple DIY note card gift set!
