Keep scrolling to learn how I recently made these Craft Felt Jellyfish come to life and the real reason for this tutorial, in the first place. Hint – the Gibbons are moving soon!
Craft Felt & Yarn Jellyfish
Hi friends!!! I can’t believe I’m writing this post. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I recently shared some exciting news.
For the past few months, my husband has been applying left and right for openings elsewhere in his career field.
After finally “letting go” of the disappointments and let downs & really accepting that we would be in Wyoming forever {we’ve been here six years} my husband FINALLY got official word that he got a special duty assignment to MacDill AFB in Tampa Florida {say what?!}
All this is sudden and we are moving across the states this coming July! Yes, July which is THREE MONTHS AWAY. EEK!
Although it’s a bit scary for me {I honestly hate change and lots of tears have come from it already} I am really excited for what the future holds. This is honestly such a good move for my husband in his career that I can’t complain. I’ve never been to Florida, so I’m anxious to see what it’s all about. Plus it’s an excuse to finally go to Disney World without all that travel hassle!
Anyways – long story short, things “might” get a little quiet around the blog for a bit. We’ll be busy getting things ready for the move, possibly seeing family before hand and I’m not sure when exactly the internet will be cut off on our “now” home. But I PROMISE you, once we get settled, things will really pick up again!
So for now – check out this Craft Felt Jellyfish Kid Craft idea that is PERFECT for my little Florida announcement! Happy crafting, my friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your jellyfish felt creations with us on our Facebook page! #gluedtomycrafts

- Various Colored Craft Felt Sheets {we used a combination of pink/yellow}
- Colored Craft Yarn {also a variation of pink/yellow}
- Large Wiggle Eyes – two per jelly craft
- Basic Craft Scissors
- School Glue or Low Temp Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
- First cut out a half circle jellyfish shape out of your craft felt {you can cut a paper plate in half and use it as a template for this step!}
- Next cut some long pieces of yarn to make dangly tentacles for your jellyfish.
- Go ahead and glue those to the back of your felt pieces you just made.
- To finish off your Felt Jellyfish Kid Craft – glue your wiggle eyes to the front of the felt piece and add other embellishments you see fit, before displaying proudly!!!
Extra Craft Tip – Change up the materials you use for this summer craft by using items you already have around the house. Skip the felt and go for options like cardstock, cardboard, bubble wrap OR even scrap fabric you might have on hand! You can also skip the yarn and go for party streamers, colored plastic OR even ribbon!
