Clown Craft Idea For Kids

No clowning around today – we are adding ANOTHER kid craft idea to the paper plate archives!!!

If you’ve been a LONG time of follower of mine, you probably know by now that paper plates are my favorite craft supply when it comes to kid crafts. They are really inexpensive, readily available AND just an overall great starting point when it comes to crafting with kids.

With today’s Paper Plate Clown tutorial, you are sure to have a great time AND have a beautiful piece to show off with your child afterwards. Make it today {or any day of the year} just get up and DO IT!

Pom Pom & Paper Plate Clown - Kid Craft

This fun clown craft is perfect for kids of all ages! With just a few simple supplies, you can create a clown that’s sure to amuse.

Craft Supplies:

  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Pom Poms
  • THICK Tacky Glue
  • Glitter Cardstock Paper
  • Paper Scissors
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – grab your paper plate, pom poms and the thick tacky glue.
  • Make a good layer out glue where you want the clown’s hair to be.
  • Lay the pom poms, in a line, on top of the glue.
  • Set it aside.
  • Next up – grab your sheets of paper and scissors.
  • Cut out clown features from the glitter cardstock – large triangle hat, big red nose etc.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Clown – staple/glue on the cardstock pieces and wiggle eyes in their designated spots on the paper plate & finish off by drawing on a smile with the black Sharpie marker.
  • At this point, you can add other embellishments you see fit to give your clown that one-of-a-kind look!
  • Be sure to allow your glue to try completely before you move it!
  • Then display proudly for all to see!
