Baseball Craft Made From Paper

Everybody play BALL!!!

Although I’m personally not a big fan of baseball – I am however a BIG fan of today’s super simple Paper Plate Baseball craft idea!

Paired with one of my son’s new favorite books {Pete The Cat : Play Ball! by James Dean} it’s the perfect excuse to knock some story time and craft time right out of the ball park!

Pete the Cat is ready to play baseball! Pete’s team, the Rocks, is playing the Rolls. But when the game doesn’t go Pete’s way, what will Pete do?

So what are you waiting for? Be a good sport and grab the supplies listed below so you can get to work on this “strike out” craft today! Don’t forget to read the book in honor of your “groovy” creation and be sure to find the perfect spot to show it off too!

Happy crafting {and reading} with your child today!!!

Paper Plate Baseball Craft Idea For Kids

Get the team ready! Turn some paper plates into baseballs for an easy and fun craft the whole family will love!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • White Tissue Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First things first – cut your tissue paper into small squares.
  • Next put a good amount of glue all over the paper plate.
  • Have children place the white tissue paper on top of the glue, until it’s completely covered.
  • While they are working on that, cut out some stripes from the red cardstock paper, for the iconic red laces/stitching on the baseball.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Baseball kids craft – simple glue the cardstock paper pieces on the paper plate.
  • Then display proudly for all to see! {or add other embellishments to really make it your own!}

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
