With today’s simple Thumbprint Heart Magnets tutorial, you are sure to make something extra special and really loved by the receiver. These personalized clay heart magnets are fairly easy to make, really inexpensive and sure to make a lasting impression too! Looking for a fun, easy and inexpensive craft to do with your kids? Then you’ll want to try making these adorable thumbprint heart magnets.

Craft Supplies:

  • Air Dry Modeling Clay- buy it on Amazon
  • Small Rolling Pin
  • Heart Shaped Cookies
  • Large Circular Craft Magnets
  • Low Temp Hot Glue Gun
  • Craft Paint {in any color you like!}
  • Paint Brushes

Directions:

  • First roll out your clay on a flat surface {about 1/4″ thickness}
  • Using your cookie cutters, cut out heart shapes from the clay and set aside.
  • Have your child press their thumb twice into the clay piece, to create a heart imprint. Repeat for each piece.
  • Once done, set all your pieces aside to let them dry/harden {takes about a day or two!}
  • To finish off your Thumbprint Heart Magnets, have children personalize them with paint or other embellishments.
  • Once done, hot glue the magnets to the back of the clay shaped hearts and package them up for easy gifting.
