For parents, teachers, or caregivers who want to foster creativity while celebrating the season, this clay acorn magnet craft is the perfect activity. It’s simple, fun, and a great way for kids to create something they can enjoy long after the crafting is finished.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to help kids make their own acorn magnets. With just a few materials and easy-to-follow steps, they’ll have adorable fall-themed decorations in no time. Bonus? You’ll create memories together that last far longer than leaves on the trees.

Craft Supplies:

Before you begin, make sure you have these materials ready. Good preparation makes crafting a breeze:

  • White Air Dry Clay
  • Acorn Shaped Cookie Cutter
  • Gold/Brown/Yellow Loose Craft Sequins
  • Rolling Pin
  • Tweezers
  • Adhesive Magnets – one per acorn magnet

Directions:

Now, let’s gather some supplies and get started!

  1. Grab your clay and a rolling pin.
  2. Roll out the dough on a flat surface.
  3. Grab your acorn cookie cutter and cut out your shapes.
  4. Carefully transfer each one to a cookie sheet or large ceramic plate.
  5. To add some bling and color, grab your tweezers and sequins.
  6. Gently push them into the clay near the top of the acorn. Arrange them however you want but keep them in that general area.
  7. Once done, place your clay shapes on a cookie sheet or plate.
  8. Then place in an undisturbed area and let them air-dry for a few days. Depending on the thickness, it may take a bit longer.
  9. When your sequined clay acorn pieces are completely harden, go ahead and hot glue your magnets to the back for easy displaying on the fridge!
