Autumn is a season brimming with inspiration. The vibrant hues of changing leaves, the crisp air, and the festive spirit create an atmosphere that is absolutely perfect for crafting. Not to mention – the cozy clothes that we all love to wear!
On that note, if you’re looking for a fun and engaging activity for your kids that encapsulates the essence of fall, look no further! Recreating our “Pom Pom Stamped Fall Sweater” craft idea can be the perfect way to celebrate the season. All you need is paper, paint and a pom pom paint brush!
Craft Supplies:
- Sweater Printable – on box.com
- Cardstock Paper
- Craft Paint {two to three colors}
- Small Paper Plate
- Large Pom Pom
- Wood Clothespin
- Pumpkin Stickers
- optional – crayons
- optional – Scissors
- optional – Glue Stick
BTW – the book in our example images is “It’s Fall!” by Renée Kurilla
Directions:
- First print out the “sweater” printable listed above in the supply list. You only need ONE print out per pom pom stamped craft.
- If desired, color in the collar and sleeve cuffs of the sweater before moving onto paint.
- Next grab your various colors of craft paint and the paper plate. Squirt a few drops of each color on the plate.
- Now take your pom pom and “pinch” it in between the clothespin, to create a paint brush.
- Gently “dab” the newly made brush into craft paint and then on the sweater printable. Repeat until the sweater is completely colored in/looks how you like it.
- When done painting, if desired, go ahead and use scissors to trim out the design.
- Discard excess paper.
- Now glue your sweater design to the center to of another sheet of cardstock paper.
- To finish off the fall themed sweater craft, add the pumpkin sticker and any other embellishments you see fit.
- Then allow it to dry completely before you display it proudly for ALL to see!
