Valentine’s Day Love Plant Craft

Are you looking for a fun and creative craft idea to make this Valentine’s Day? Look no further! With just some paper plates, paper heart doilies, scissors, glue and a few other basic crafts items you can create your very own love plant decoration for the lovestruck holiday!

Not only is it an easy and inexpensive way to show someone special that you care about them, but it’s also a great February craft activity to help engage young children in hands-on learning while they express their creativity.

Paper Plate Love Plant Craft

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Paper Heart Doilies
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Gold Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Jumbo Popsicle Stick
  • Hand-Held Stapler

Directions:

  • First cut your paper plate in half. Reserve one half for this craft {or both if you like!}
  • Next paint the paper plate half completely brown.
  • When done, set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Next up – the plant stem. Paint the jumbo popsicle stick completely green.
  • Go ahead and set that aside with the paint paper plate.
  • Now grab your pieces of cardstock paper and scissors.
  • Cut out a leaf shape from the green cardstock paper.
  • Out of the gold cardstock paper, cut out a medium sized circle piece for the center of the flower.
  • Go ahead and glue the FOUR heart doilies, to the back of the circular center piece, to create the flower.
  • Finally – to finish the Paper Plate Love Plant you will want to staple the painted jumbo popsicle stick to the paper plate, while gluing the heart design at the other end.
  • Go ahead and add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display proudly for everyone to see this Valentine’s Day season!

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!
