Today’s paper bag gray wolf puppy craft tutorial is actually inspired by my son {no surprise there!}

Back in the day, we purchased him a stuffed gray wolf from the Denver zoo gift shop and it quickly became his favorite toy right after that visit. Man… I remember him taking that thing EVERYWHERE we went and it HAD to sleep with him at all times. Sadly… those days are now long gone but those memories really bring a huge smile to my face.

Anyways – long story short, that adorable stuffed wolf is what inspired this latest paper bag puppet craft tutorial from us. Of course there’s a free printable linked below AND easy directions to get you started even faster.

This is a simple baby wolf puppet kids craft that makes for an awesome afternoon boredom buster or maybe even a story time activity. Make one today!

Happy crafting my friends!! Enough chit chat from me – it’s time to make these brown lunch sack gray wolves today!

Craft Supplies:

  • Wolf Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Paper Lunch Bag
  • Gray Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paint Brush
  • Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First things first! If you haven’t already – be sure to grab the free file {listed above} and print it out on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Next grab your choice of coloring material {in a shade of gray and black} and color in the wolf head in the printable. Make sure you also draw on some eyes as well!
  • When done coloring, go ahead and trim out the head shape. Set it aside.
  • Before you discard the remaining white cardstock paper, go ahead and cut out TWO half circle shapes for the wolf’s paws. Use the black crayon from earlier to draw on some details.
  • Next up – squirt the gray craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Lay the brown paper bag on a flat surface, with the flap facing up.
  • You are going to want to paint the larger side {not the flap} completely gray.
  • When you are done painting, it’s time for the final step! Go ahead and glue the decorated head cutout piece from earlier, to the flap piece of the paper bag.
  • Finish it up by adding any other embellishments you see fit {maybe some bows or glitter!}
  • Then let your finished craft dry completely before you display the finished Paper Bag Wolf puppet piece proudly or play with it like a puppet.
