  2. Using your scissors, trim out the heart design, as well as the center of it. This will become the gnome’s beard.
  3. Go ahead and also cut out ONE of the sunglass shapes but set it aside for now.
  4. Now grab your clear contact paper and cut off two same length pieces.
  5. Take off the protective paper off one of them and lay it on a flat surface, with the sticky side up.
  6. Lay your heart cutout on top of it.
  7. If desired, sprinkle some loose craft glitter on first.
  8. Now grab your white tissue paper and cut/tear it into small squares.
  9. Have your child place those torn pieces on the contact paper, right inside the heart design, to fill in the gnome’s beard.
  10. Once done, grab the other piece of contact paper and remove it’s protective sheet.
  11. Lay it on top of the other piece and press firmly, making sure every corner is stuck together.
  12. Now use your scissors to trim out the finished design.
  13. Discard excess contact paper and set aside the heart for now.
  14. Next grab the scrapbook paper and tan cardstock paper.
  15. Cut out a large triangle shape {the hat} out of the scrapbook paper.
  16. Out of the tan, cut out an oval shape for his nose.
  17. To finish off the Patriotic Gnome Suncatcher, staple the hat, sunglasses and nose piece in place, on the decorated heart design. Add stickers to the hat design.
  18. If desired, you can add make a second hat, sunglass cutout and nose piece for the flip side of the craft.
  19. Then display proudly on a bright, sunny window or on the kitchen fridge with a few pieces of clear tape!
