Craft Supplies:
- Recycled Toilet Paper Roll
- White Cardstock Paper {two pieces!}
- Lion Printable – on our landing page
- Yellow Crayon, Marker or Coloring Pencil
- Small Paper Plate
- Scissors
- Orange Craft Paint
- Glue Stick
- Small Googly Eyes
Directions:
- To get started, simply download and print the free provided printable listed above in the supply list. One print will give you SIX pieces, which in turn will allow you to make this craft TWICE if you do three lions at a time on your paper.
- Go ahead and color in THREE head shapes with your choice of craft medium.
- At this point in time you can also add the wiggle eyes in place as well.
- When done decorating the pieces, cut each one out and set aside the remaining unfinished pieces for later.
- Next, using scissors, you will want to cut slits in the toilet paper roll to make your stamp. I went about 1/4 of the way up.
- Now bend the slits outward from the tube. The toilet paper roll will look like a flower when you are done.
- Go ahead and take some ORANGE craft paint & squirt a small amount of it in the center of the small paper plate.
- Using your new toilet paper roll stamp, move the paint around a bit, so the stamp part is completely covered.
- Now hand it over to your child and wait for the fun to begin! All they need to do is dip their newly made stamp in the paint, then on the paper. They will want to make THREE “lion mane” designs {with room between each} on the paper.
- Repeat adding paint, until the desired hair design is reached.
- The final step is to glue on the head shape designs in the center of each star burst print they just made.
- Once the paint is dry, add embellishments all around the designs, to make your lion mane’s stand out from the crowd!
