It’s a great, unique way to keep the kids busy (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love getting their hands a little messy with paint?), and you’ll wind up with an adorable memento to keep beyond this Halloween season.

Just gather up some paint, paper, and our free printable, and you’re ready to go! BTW – this craft is perfect for those Halloween nights when you’re cozied up at home handing out candy to the little ones.

Handprint Trick or Treat Keepsake

Our handprint trick or treat keepsake is the perfect way to preserve those precious memories of Halloween past. And, it’s so easy to make! All you need is some paper, a little bit of paint and your cute little trick or treater’s handprint!

Craft Supplies:

  • Candy Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Halloween Stickers

Directions:

  • First print out the free trick or treat keepsake printable.
  • Go ahead and have children color in the candy designs however THEY like.
  • Now grab your choice of colored craft paint and squirt it on a small paper plate.
  • Pick a hand – any hand!
  • Paint the palm of your child’s hand completely and press it in the center of the printable, to make it look like they are grabbing the candy.
  • Gently lift up their hand to reveal the handprint design underneath.
  • Use baby wipes {and soapy water} to remove excess craft paint from hand.
  • Now grab your remaining embellishments and decorate the keepsake however you like.
  • When done, set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display and/or gift away your handprint Halloween candy keepsake piece proudly!
