Supplies:

  • HOPPY Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Large Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Small Pom Poms
  • Tacky Glue or Glue Dot
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Easter Stickers

Instructions:

  • First print the free printable template {listed above} on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You will need ONE printable per kid craft {but please only use our file for personal use only!}
  • Next up – grab your craft paint and paper plate.
  • Squirt a small amount of paint on a paper plate.
  • Now this step is tricky and it’s best to do a practice round/coach your child through it so the handprint that looks like a face and bunny ears. For ours, I only painted my son’s pinky and index finger, along with the palm of his hand for our bunny {because I found this was easiest for us!} There are multiple ways to do this craft/accomplish the handprint bunny head design so that’s why I suggest making a game plan before hand! Anyways – go ahead and paint their hand & press it down in the center of the “hoppy” word design.
  • Be sure to really press down their hand to transfer all the paint.
  • Now lift up their hand to reveal the design underneath.
  • Go ahead and use the baby wipes to clean off excess paint and head to the sink for the a quick wash up as well!
  • At this point in time, you can grab a small paint brush to touch up any of the handprint design before you set aside the printable to let the craft paint dry completely.
  • When ready to embellish, glue on a pom pom nose and the wiggle eyes for your bunny’s head.
  • Use the Sharpie marker to draw on some whiskers on the bunny {and maybe even a smile!}
  • Add other embellishments you see fit to your child’s handprint hoppy Easter keepsake piece before you display/gift it away proudly!
