Craft Stick Sheep - Kid Craft Idea

Popsicle Stick Black Sheep

Today’s lovely tutorial is another first-seen-here for us and I’m so excited to get it published on Glued To My Crafts right now.

If this unique idea is something you want to recreate today with your child, all our craft stick sheep tutorial requires is a few jumbo popsicle sticks, small wooden clothespins, cardstock and a little bit of craft paint. That’s it! Very basic supplies that I’m sure {if you have a long time follower of mine} you already have on hand right now. I say that is a major WIN WIN right now!

When I was doodling out this idea on my I-pad last night, I just KNEW it was going to be something I was going to fall in love with. I hope you enjoy it {as well as making it} with your child, as much as I had coming up with it!

You can find ALL the details you need to know, in the full tutorial below. I hope you are inspired to recreate a few black sheep craft pieces with your little one today! As always – happy crafting, my dear friends!

  • Go ahead and also paint your TWO mini clothespins with the black craft paint, as well.
  • Set all the painted pieces aside.

  • Cut out a large head from the black cardstock and some hair for on top of the head, out of the white paper.
  • Go ahead and adhere the wiggle eyes in place as well.
  • Now grab your painted popsicle stick shape and turn it so the rectangle is laying on it’s larger side.
  • Go ahead and glue your paper head pieces to the painted popsicle stick shape.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Sheep craft, go ahead and pinch the TWO painted clothespins to the painted popsicle stick rectangle shape to create the legs.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
