Paint Splatter Sheep Craft
Hi friends! Welcome to our lovely website. Today I’m hoping to encourage YOU and your child to try a unique craft technique this spring season, with our latest & greatest paint splat tutorial. I’m going to show you how easy it is to make baby lambs on paper with our popular abstract paint technique that I love OH SO MUCH!
To recreate this paint splat sheep on paper, all I did was take some dark colored cardstock and my favorite {and trusty} white Tulip brand puffy paint to make the “wool” of the sheep, on paper. From there, we added a few cardstock embellishments and wiggle eyes to bring it our baby lamb friend to life. Really easy stuff!
If this is something you would like to recreate today, you can check out the full tutorial below, along with the list of supplies to make it happen. My tip to making this craft EXTRA PERFECT AND FLUFFY is investing in the Tulip brand puffy paint. It’s what makes the white really pop from the paper!
Well enough chit chat from me – I’ll let you get to it! Find all the details below so you can recreate one of your own sheep friends today!

Spring is the perfect time to get crafty! This paint splat sheep craft is perfect for kids of all ages. All you need is paint and paper to bring it to life today!
Craft Supplies:
- White Tulip Brand Puffy Paint
- Loose, White Craft Glitter {optional}
- Gray Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Basic Craft Scissors
- School Glue
- Medium Sized Wiggle Eyes
Directions:
- First things first – fold your GRAY cardstock paper in half and open it back up.
- Grab your Tulip puffy paint and squirt some white craft paint ON ONE SIDE before closing it up again.
- Once the paper is closed for the second time, gently take your hand and “caress” the paper so the white paint inside, makes a fun symmetrical print design on both sides of the paper {keep in mind – paint might ooze from the sides of the cardstock, so be sure to work in an area that can get dirty!}
- Now you are ready to open it back up and see the BEGINNING of what your sheep’s body/his wool will eventually be. From there you decorate it to bring it to life and give it life.
- If desired – while the white paint is still wet – go ahead and sprinkle some white loose craft glitter on top for some extra sparkle. When done with this step, go ahead and set aside the paint covered paper piece till the last step.
- Next up, grab the remaining sheets of cardstock paper and your scissors.
- Out of the white cardstock, cut out some “wool” for on top of it’s head. Think of this step as cutting out a small cloud as it’s hair.
- Out of the black cardstock, cut out a large head {with ears} a tail and two stick legs.
- Go ahead and at this point in time, glue the wiggle eyes in place on the paper head piece.
- Finally – the last step in completing this paint smash sheep craft is to glue down ALL the cardstock cutout pieces, on top of the white paint splat design. I would highly suggest starting with the head piece first.
- Once finished with your custom paper lamb piece, set it aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly! And of course – repeat as many times as you like! No two pieces will be the same and I think that’s what makes it even more fun!
